got the sissy all mounted and tacked into place
rear fender is solid as a rock
starting on the seat pan so I can make sure it will be covered in time as to not hold the build up
then I will jump back to the rest of the sissy bar and move onto the mid control mounts next
just some pics of a really rough pattern for the seat
this is just to get an idea of the shape it will have
I have to go back and get some good trimming and shaping done on this then transfer it over to some steel
Started working on the rear fender and the beginnings of the sissy bar
Im going to build a trident style bar but out of round tube instead of the square stock
Beginnings of the lower fender mount
Start of the Sissy Bar and Rear Fender Mount
Just Getting Some Ideas For The Brake Side Mid Control
Rear Wheel All Spaced Up
just need to cut the correct spacers for the outer portion of the axle that slips into the slots on the axle plates
some more parts showed up and some more parts went on
21" front spool with buchanans stainless spokes and new avon speedmaster front tire
all ready to go all brand new
Fab Kevin Rear Disc Brake
got a little cutting and welding done on the frame also
the right side stock forward control must have broke a long time ago and was repaired by a god awful flat stock and bad welds so I cut and ground it all off and smoothed it out. We are going with mid controls on this bike so its not needed
Cut the rear tank mounts and part of the top motor mount to clear the new gas tank and re welded the top motor mount to the frame
Just some mock up with the gas tank and stuff on it
have to line up the rear wheel and then get to work on mounting the rear fender
So thats its I finally ripped off my electronic ignition (this was my last bike with electronic igntion and I hated it)
so I got the Morris Magneto M5 Auto Mag on and all setup and running today
the bike feels a hell of a lot stronger and throttle response is a lot stronger also
there is a reason that Im a Morris Magneto dealer and its because they make an absolutely great product
heres a vid of it running I love the clear cap that Morris makes
photo of it on the bike
Okay got enough parts in today to keep me busy and start geting the baby back together
Also the original paint AMF tank came in today and Im loving it
gonna look great on the bike
Im going to have the rear fender painted to match this tank and pinstriped with the same colors
Biltwell Sanderson Pegs
Fab Kevin rear brake caliper and bracket (only going with a rear brake on the build no front brake so I want it to still stop well for Corey so I went with this caliper setup)
Original Paint Tank
Corey decided to stay with the 4" over front end for that more traditional style "Frisco" look
So Im super happy about that just some pics of it down on the ground
got the frame back from Mike at 47 Industries
just want to say a big thank you from him
the frame came out absolutely amazing
Mike and Ryan did a fantastic job it look like a factory hardtail not an added on hardtail at all
the re pop axle plates completely set the look off
and Mike also incorporates some minor little bends in the rear legs that the factory wishbone frame has
when I got home I was comparing it to my stock 1948 wishbone frame that has a pan/shovel motor in it and its dead nuts on
my frame is an original that my dad had since the early 1960's and Im absolutely thrilled at the end result that Mike achieved with the stock shovelhead frame here
so on to the pics
these are just for mock up
the front end has to be cut down
its got that groovy authentic frisco stance going on right now
the tubes are about 4" over so they will get cut to stock or -2 soon
just mocking things up to get a feel for what I have to work with here
decided on a different color for the lower legs
one down one to go
hardtail on the frame is almost done
big thanks to Mike from 47 Industries for the work I dont have a frame jig yet so I wasnt able to properly do this and I support Mikes work as its top notch also
lowers are shaved
have to powdercoat them to match the trees then new seals etc. in them and the front end is all done
hoping to have everything back together as a roller by the middle of next week
and the belt drive showed up today also
